In October 2010, as part of the events of the Peloponnesian Confederation, a Peloponnesian Cuisine and Wine Tasting Competition was organised, in which people prepared dishes at home using traditional ingredients typical of the wider Peloponnese region.
The dishes with the highest scores were awarded the first prize. The first and second prizes were won by the Laconian Federation with the Siklino (smoked ham) prepared by Mrs Maria Glekas (representing Orea Eleni Associatin) and the Skaltounia prepared by Mrs Georgia Driva (Zaraxs Association).
